The West Yorkshire Integrated Volunteering Approaches Group was established to support collaborative working that will embed, value and raise the profile of the work of volunteers across Health and Social Care, Statutory and VCSE services. Membership of the group includes Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise organisations, Hospital Trusts, Yorkshire Ambulance Service and Hospices. New members are always welcome.

The multi sector group of volunteering leaders acts as a reference point for the wider volunteering agenda and the involvement of the sector.

Currently our main focus areas are to:

  • Oversee and facilitate the delivery of the West Yorkshire ICS Volunteer Strategy
  • Expand the awareness of and adoption of the West Yorkshire Volunteering Principles
  • Support a strategic approach to coherent investment in volunteering across all sectors, including commissioning research where appropriate
  • Help identify areas of further development and/or opportunities for collaboration and development
  • Champion and share best practice in volunteering from both the VCSE and statutory services (including national programmes)
