The System Leadership and Development TeamThe System and Leadership Development Team are a group of diverse individuals in every sense. We recognise and respect diversity and a strength and role model the values of inclusion that we want to see across the partnership.

There is a lot of work that goes on behind the scenes in the design, co-ordination and delivery of the fellowship programme and the anti-racist leadership work. Everyone in the team, past and present, has played a valuable part in getting the programme to where it is today.

We work by actively creating a culture of openness and learning. We know the fellowship is evolving, and we learn from this process too. We listen to the people involved in all elements of the programme to do the best we can with the time and resources that we have. We aim to provide a programme that develops the fellows, that benefits the substantive and placement organisations and is adaptive to the changing need of the heath and care system in West Yorkshire.

We use Myron's Maxims as listed below. These are a way of influencing change in a complex world.

  • People own what they help create
  • Real change happens in real work
  • Those who do the work, do the change
  • Connect the system to more of itself
  • Start anywhere, follow everywhere
  • The process you use to get to the future is the future you get.

This video features Cherill from the System and Leadership Development Team. Cherill explains that it’s important to provide our colleagues from ethnically diverse backgrounds with the opportunity to show what they can do. The programme supports fellows to be involved in leadership conversations and help shift the direction of those conversation to have a different impact in the way that we do things.

The video below features Jo from the System and Leadership Development Team. Jo explains how the fellowship directly contributes to one of the Partnership’s ten big ambitions - to increase the diversity of our leadership so that it represents the population we are here to serve.
